Matosinhos: candidate European City of Sport 2025

Grupolis was present today, April 6th, World Day for Physical Activity, at the Presentation of the Official Candidature of Matosinhos to European City of Sport 2025, at the Leixões Cruise Terminal.

The application was delivered by the Mayor of Matosinhos, Luísa Salgueiro to Nuno Santos, President of the Direction of ACESPortugal (Portuguese Association of European Cities of Sport).

For 2025, are planned in Matosinhos around 1.000 events with the participation of 200.000 people; from international competitions to beach sports, surfing events, sailing, inclusive events and even fitness classes to involve people from all over the region, country and Europe.

All sports and regular physical activity are very important and essential for everyone and currently Matosinhos has more than 115 organizations and more than 10.000 federated athletes in 45 different sports.
